10 dream houses in Portugal

10 dream houses in Portugal

There are houses with a roof pool, other circulars and those that only appear in movies. Get to know 10 dream houses in Portugal.

Have you always dreamed of "the" house, but the time hasn't come to buy it yet? The best thing is to start getting inspired by the 10 dream houses in Portugal that follow.

1. The Wall House

The Wall House is a project of Guedes Cruz Arquitetos which brought to Cascais the best of modern architecture. Apart from the impressive harmony that combines stone, glass, wood, and concrete, this dream house could not be in a more privileged location.

The sea view and the proximity to the golf courses are two of its strongest points, not to mention the swimming pools of this house. Besides the ground floor pool, another one appears "on top", as if forming a water mirror (and yes, you can swim in anyone).

2. House in Gateira

House in Gateira is very close to Serra da Estrela, situated on a high hill where silence reigns. The project was developed by Camarim Arquitetos and includes everything that a dream house should have.

The tranquility and respect for the surrounding nature are remarkable, in a house decorated in shades of white, concrete and wood. The views are breathtaking and the infinity pool over the greens and the land invites to take a dip.

3. Mount House

It was in 2004 that PM-Arquitetos inaugurated Mount House, in Grândola. This is another project that came to live among nature and that makes it the main character.

This ground house uniquely combines concrete and wood, mixing with the land and the trees that surround it. When the heat tightens, the pool invites to endless days of diving.

4. House of Gerês

House of Gerês is lost among the natural beauty of the Peneda-Gerês National Park. The project was thought by the Carvalho Araújo atelier and fits perfectly in the small valleys of this park.

The magnificence of this house is only noticed up close since in the distance its presence is practically camouflaged. This is one of the best achieved Portuguese dream houses and presents the best that contemporary architecture has to offer.

5. Bruna House

It is in Fafe that we find Bruna House, thought by Rui Oliveira. It was named after the owners' daughter and introduces a project based on straight line geometry. The house has 5 bedrooms, a regional kitchen, a swimming pool and also an old motorcycle museum.

6. Silvalde House

Silvalde House has nothing to do with conventional housing, especially if we take into account the nearest houses. Designed by the CNLL studio, which highlighted the marble outside, this dream house has very large rooms and unusual cubic shape.

7. House in Ourém

Imagine a big, closed hallway and think about how it could become a house. This is what Filipe Saraiva did when he designed the House in Ourém, a dwelling that escapes all that is conventional.

The resemblance to the traditional image of a house is, however, undeniable, but its originality comes from the way this fact is allied to the future. All the rooms are uniquely united and allow free movement through the interior and exterior spaces.

8. L49 House

It is in Cascais that we find L49 House, developed by MARQA - Mello Arquitetos Associados. The single-story house brings out a unique contemporaneity in tones of white and brown. The house has direct access to the garden and is divided into 3 large blocks.

9. House in Aldoar

The House in Aldoar, by Topos Ateliê de Arquitetura, is built-in blocks and does not let you guess, at first sight, the immensity of space it hides inside. There is still room for an outdoor pool.

10. Elliptical House

Were you looking for that dream house that has nothing to do with the traditional concept of a dwelling? Great, because we want to introduce you to the Elliptical House, by Mário Martins Ateliê. All you can see is the sea, the garden and a circular structure with rounded corners.
